My Bio

Actually I fell in love with the art of Kinbaku (Japanese traditional tight rope bondage) many years ago as an illustrator. I like it as either a uke (subject) or seme (tormentor). From there I also got involved with a study of the history of Japanese law (before 1870 AD). My illustrations are inspired by the work of others. It is art form in Japan and has inspired many other people around the world as an form of art. My work combines history with art. Both as explanation of a law form in a culture which was radically different from modern day law and as a labor of love.

About My Art

19 January 2024

For my old viewers: I am continuing with my series of Kinbaku Tidbits. Again plan to this time is to every so often intersperse them with other things every so often, to give more variety to my series of Kinbaku illustrations.

One of those extras: On front page I have installed two series of random pictures from my galleries which change everything one refreshes the screen. Just press the F5 button a PC to refresh. Take a look. It is quick way of finding pictures of interest.

Also: My female kinbaku illustration postings will appear from time to time.

For my new viewers: I have now posted over 5000 illustrations in my gallery. A good portion of which are arranged in story lines, some short, some hundreds of illustrations long. My artwork is mostly a display the Japanese arts of Kinbaku (tight rope bondage), Shibari (binding), and Goumon (torture). That is why I refer to myself as a Kinbaku illustrator. There are also a number of special series like "Kinbaku Story" and "JIro's Jinmon", in my galleries, each 200+ illustrations long. Series like "Kinbaku Story" and "Kinbaku Nightmare" are done in a large format (4k). There are also galleries like "Kinbaku Tales" which have a number of shorter stories. Besides that I have number of large scale illustrations of Japanese Castles and fleets, in my gallery, which I have made from scratch. So explore and discover.

More Notes About My Art

My illustrations are often placed in a sequential series with accompanying text to explain them more fully. The text enhances the illustrations and gives more life to the story. So to get the most out of my artwork view my illustrations and read the text. The text gives a voice to the characters in the illustrations. The text often contains notes explaining the situation more fully. Many notes are educational concerning the nature of the Japanese society in 1600 AD, at the end of the Sengoku (Waring states) period. But be warned, I pull no punches in my illustrations and commentary, my material is not for the faint of heart. It explores the dark side of people and society. Especially the beauty and mystery in the art of Japanese rope bondage.

One More Note About My Art

My recent illustrations, over the last several years, many hundreds of them, are presented, as downloads, in 3840 x 2160 pixel format (4k). They can fit nicely even on a 40 inch screen. My animations are in 1280 x 720 pixel format (HD). Remember that things don't stay forever on the web, they often come and go like the wind. so collect them and put things you like in a safe place.

All Characters, who are bound in my work, are 18 years old or over. In the historic period of time of which all my illustrations are set, the average adult Japanese Samurai were 5 feet tall. The Chinese called Japan the land of the Wa (Dwarfs).
