Kinbaku Tidbit - To Be Punished

This commoner is to be taught the error of his ways. Bamboo sticks have been left for passer byes on the road, to beat him with, at their pleasure. Actually he is getting off light by the standards of the times, where a commoner could be beheaded for just insulting a Samurai without trial on the street.

This is set in Japan around the year 1650 AD. The theme of this series of illustrations is generally centered around examples of Kinbaku (Japanese traditional tight rope bondage).
